“I'd had nothing to do for a year or so and was bored. The only creative work I did was cleaning the house each and every day but I understood after a while that the house when I woke up was just as clean as it was when I went to bed the night before. So with no tidying on the schedule I did the only right thing; I went up the attic. I found a lot of old “shape up the house stuff” such as half full paint buckets, rolls of paper, pieces of wood and things like that. So the thought came to me that why don't I, during a month, create one piece of art a day and then at a fabulous opening sell everything for 500 SEK a piece (approximately $ 80) and collect 15000 SEK (approximately $ 2400) to pay debts and buy whiskey for a great party. So I got to it. After 30 days I had eleven pieces ready so I postponed it and made it 45 days. I postponed a couple of more months but finally I could open the doors to my first opening in the not anymore so fresh and sparkling house. It blow my expectations people wise but I didn't sell as much as planned; I got some money for whiskey. The debts I paid later with my student loan, which I got to study at Basis Art School in Stockholm during two years. I had fun there, oh so fun actually. I met a lot of interesting people, and the artist teachers were a fascinating crew, especially the principal, one of the founders: she was nice, sort of like a vast bird.”
